10 years of together-ness

I am 99.9999999% sure Husband will *NOT* read this post but in case he does, he’ll be reminded that today is our tenth anniversary of together-ness. In honor of our special day, here’s a recap of our first decade:

2003 – After a year of instant messaging, emails, and phone calls, TxTeamRoper (that was Husband) and nicgolfer83 (that was me) finally met in Louisville, Kentucky while I was a student at Bellarmine University. (Confession: we kissed on our first date and I fell in love immediately.) A winter storm came through that weekend, making it freakishly cold and miserable. Ice covered everything, including a flight of stairs that I fell down. My gracefulness must have been an attractive quality!

2004 – I was an official resident of Texas, living in Beaumont, a student at Lamar University, and playing collegiate golf. Handsome surprised me by driving to Beaumont and spending the weekend with me, including treating me to a fabulous dinner at Pappadeaux’s.

2005 – For the first time in our relationship, Handsome and I lived within 30 miles of each other. On this Valentine’s Day, I was a student at Texas A&M University at Commerce and we went to dinner and watched a movie. He also sent me a HUGE bouquet of white calla lilies, the only flowers I’ve ever received from the man.

2006 – Living in my first apartment, I had the means and space to prepare a Valentine’s feast for Handsome. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what I prepared!!!!

2007 – Our last Valentine’s as boyfriend and girlfriend … a month later we were married.

2008 – Our first Valentine’s Day as home owners.

2009 – I quit my corporate job on Valentine’s Day (how sentimental of me!) and Husband treated me to a celebratory dinner.

2010 – A freak snow storm hit the DFW Metroplex and Husband and I were stuck at home. Nothing exciting to report for this year!

2011 and 2012 – I don’t remember anything significant from these years. We are so boring!!!

2013 – Holy Moses, 10 years babe!!!!!!! If I was a betting woman, I’d bet we are going to stay home, eat dinner, and go to bed early. Saturday, though, we’ll probably go out for dinner and a movie.

Husband, I love you and look forward to our next decade of together-ness. :>)
