Three 31

About Me

Welcome to my blog, Three 31!!!!

I’m really glad you’re here. If you’re wondering about the meaning of Three 31, it is the date (March 31) Husband and I married. { everybody say awww!!! }

I am Nicole, a 20-something from the Bluegrass of Kentucky living near Fort Worth, Texas with Husband and our horse, Blue (who’s actually white).

I bleed blue for the University of Kentucky and love all things that resonate from The Bluegrass, including: basketball championships, the Derby, jowl bacon, sweet tea, and blacktop roads. Husband was born and raised in East Texas, we both graduated from Texas A&M University at Commerce, and if he told me what he did at work he’d have to kill me. It’s highly classified and I wouldn’t understand, even if he explained it.

A few things I love and enjoy:

  • God and my church
  • family and friends
  • country music
  • shooting (guns and a Nikon dSLR)
  • banana snow cones with a “splash” of cherry-flavor on top (they turn a lovely shade of orange)
  • gardening, canning, and farming
  • cooking and baking
  • reading
  • mission trips

I’m allergic to cow’s milk (diagnosed at 21) and, yes, I miss ice cream and cheese. I am NOT lactose intolerant.

I read the 50 Shades trilogy {the first time} in 60 hours over one weekend. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve read the books again. You could say I’m addicted to Mister Grey. Husband, and my inner goddess, are not complaining.

I made a Bucket List … and I’ve accomplished some of it. Another helpful link “about me” is A to Z of Me.

My cell phone is of the “flip” variety and older than dirt. I don’t text either. I am, however, a social debutant on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

I appreciate readers’ comments on my blog posts and try to reply to all of them.

If you need to reach me quickly, email me at nicole.m.hutchison (at) gmail.com.

Thank you for stopping by my little piece of Bloggy-land. I hope you’ll come back!

  7. It looks like you’re doing a great job! I especially like the header for your blog, by the way.

    • Thank you! This blog is coming along nicely and, with nice folks like YOU, more visitors are viewing every day. That’s a blogging success, right?! Stop by anytime, I always enjoy new Front Porch Pals!!!!

  8. Nice to meet you Nicole and I’m happy you stopped by my place. It takes me awhile to do anything but I get there eventually! Abundant blessings to you and your blog! :) Thanks!

  9. Glad to have found you again!

  10. I pretty much love your blog already because my birthday is March 31 :)

  11. I read 50 shades too… and LOVED it. So good, I’m a sucker for a decently written smut novel. You should check out Bared to You by Sylvia Day if you haven’t already. Along the same lines, but even better. ;)

And girl – I don’t know how you survive on a flip phone! With being a FB/Twitter girl – you need to make the swap to the dark side. ;) haha

    • Jacmarie, you are my kind of girl!!!!! I have read Bared to You and it was great. I also recommend Olivia Cunning, especially Backstage Pass. Wowsers. Don’t hate my flip phone, I’m hanging onto the 20th century as long as I can. HAHAHA Seriously, I’m the cheapest cheapa$$ ever.

      Hugs,
      Nicole

  12. My best friend and I moved to Fort Worth on a whim after college… we LOVED it. To two girls from the Northeast, it was like an entirely different world!!

    • Hi Victoria! Moving to Texas was a change for me as well, but I knew in my heart it was the right decision for me. But, no matter what, Kentucky will ALWAYS be home!!!!!

      Thanks for stopping by,
      Nicole

  13. Hi Nicole,
Just want to thank you for stopping by my blog this morning. I LOVED your comment. Great to “meet” someone else who has also experienced the PAP airport! Blessings for your upcoming trip to Haiti.
    Hugs,
    Kathy

    • Hi Kathryn! I’m glad to know someone who’s not only experienced the PAP airport, but lives in my home state of Kentucky too!!!! Thank you for the prayers, we’re certainly going to need them. While I won’t have water, electricity, or bathroom facilities, I know it’s going to be a great trip. Oh, the stories we’ll tell upon our return. =)

Hugs from Texas ….. from one Kentucky girl to another!
      Nicole

  14. Oops, meant to subscribe. Leaving another comment, so I can check that box. Thanks!

  15. Hi Nicole,

I came across your blog and I just have to say you are such a great spirit! I’ve read through your posts and you have such a sweetness and sincerity behind your words. You had me at country and sweet tea <3 I just started my blog this week because of a school assignment, however, I found that I had way too much of a good time to just not continue blogging. Feel free to check it out and let me know any tips to having a great blog (like yours) :) Hope to hear from you.

    -Steph

    • Awww, thank you Stephanie! You’ve made my day so much brighter. If there’s anything I’ve learned from blogging in the two short years I’ve been doing it, it’s to be genuine. I am who I am. A lot of people comment and say reading my posts are like having a face-to-face conversation and I love that! If you were on my front porch, drinking a glass of sweet tea, we’d have these same conversations!!!

Best wishes for continued success with your blog, I can’t wait to read it and get to to know you.

      Blessings + Hugs, Nicole

      • Your words mean a lot, Nicole :) I feel that the most important thing to give when writing (and reading) a blog is that personal touch. Making the reader feel comfortable and want to continue reading more because of how genuine you are says A LOT! You are always welcome on my front porch. :)

        -Steph

  16. Why I’ve never read your about page is beyond me. I think I learn something new each time I hop over or talk to you on the phone! ;) LOL You should check out Stefanie (first link up on the TXWB introduce yourself page)…she bleeds blue pretty loudly too. ;)

  17. Connected through Texas Women Bloggers:) I’m also a KY transplant and STILL bleed blue in this sea of burnt orange. Looking forward to getting better acquainted.

    • Hi Stefanie! I found your blog via TXWB and Taylor Norris, so glad to have met another Kentucky girl! Despite bleeding blue and loving the Wildcats, I’m so proud of the UofL men’s team and Rick Pitino for winning the 2013 Championship. Glad to have that banner flying in Kentucky!!!!

Your blog’s “About Me” page is so unique and beautiful. There are so many things that are similar about us and I look forward to reading more. Perhaps you can attend future DFW Bloggers’ events too. I’d love to meet you!

      Blessings + Hugs,
      N

Let me know what you think. I read and enjoy each and every one of your comments!!
