In 2011, I was blessed to be a member of the Haiti Mission Team, representing the First United Methodist Church in Joshua, Texas ~ in partnership with UMVIM and UMCOR. The capital city of Port-au-Prince and the surrounding communities were devastated by an earthquake (7.0 magnitude) on January 10, 2010. My team and I helped rebuild the Methodist School in Puit Blains and delivered medical supplies to the children’s hospital.
In October 2012, I returned to Haiti and worked in the coastal community of Leveque helping rebuild the Methodist Church there. During our trip, the mission team and I also visited the school where I worked in 2011. It was AMAZING to see it complete and filled with students.
In March 2012, I traveled to Frakes, Kentucky. My Mom met us there, it was her first mission experience. You can read the team’s mission trip blog by clicking HERE.
I’m very blessed for these opportunities.
